My first day back in the city

After a lovely relaxed two weeks back at home, Saterday evening saw me making my return back to the capital. I cant say I was excited...however waking up on Sunday morning to the sun shining and radiating heat it was finally the perfect weather for me to go on an adventure with my bike :) :) - hardly an adventure...I cycled to Victoria park, read my book and cycled back along the canal - It was perfect :) :)

My Green Bag

So last summer I invested in (well hardly invested it was my very proud bargain find) of a vintage tan rucksack, and for those of you who frequently browse my 'Today I'm wearing' posts you are probably sick of seeing the infamous bag. Versatile with everything, a handy size for weekend events (nothing gets lost in it - perfect size :) ) and that lovely worn look about it - I'm sure you've guessed its pretty safe to say that I love this bag.

Forgive my slightly one sided opinion here to any guys reading this but a bag to a woman is like water to a fish, its that one statement accessory that HAS to be a part of every outfit - where would your phone, keys, purse, diary, pens, mints, ipod....)you get my point) go without it? From fast fashion, on trend buys from the high street to investment, lifelong friends at the designer end of the budget as cheesy as it may sound....a bag makes your outfit.

So my whole point of this post is to bring your attention to the up and coming designer bag label 'My Green Bag' based in Shoreditch. They both design and produce stylish whilst at the same time sustainable (a message they feel very passionate about) handbags, from satchels and rucksacks to totes and accessories and due to the quality of materials used no bag is ever the no worrying about turning up to meet your friend for coffee and cringing as you both place your handbags down :)

Dont Dump Donate

Bought to life following Mary Portas 2009 television series 'Mary queen of charity shops', Living and giving is the charity concept developed for Save the Children.

Although I've been pretty up to date with my weekend antics / exhibition and shopping trip posts lately this one seems to of slipped through my back log of photos (oh yes plenty more posts to come out of me yet) My parents January trip down to visit saw us walking miles - to give you a slight inclination of just how far - we alighted the overground train at gospel oak, walking up to parliament hill, round Hampstead heath to Hampstead village, down the high street (past Belsize park and chalk farm) through to Primrose Hill which is where my blog post takes place so I'll spare you the details of our final walking instalment. Meandering along Regents park road and the story book shops located there and we came across Mary's living and giving shop. I love browsing vintage shops, markets and charity stalls (its one of London's effects on me since moving) however I think its safe to say its not top of my parents to do list. This shop definitely doesn't look like a charity shop so I managed to prize them in (I'm still not 100% sure they realise it is :) ) The kitsch interior is great, bookshelves line the walls from floor to ceiling and I absolutely LOVED the unique, industrial 'tailor - esque' style mannequins (or more of a dummy?) in the window. The infamous 'Britain needs you' slogan has very cleverly been adapted to 'Donate don't Dump' and the grey and pink exterior with cute outdoor table is very reminiscent of a Parisian flea market. My next visit...

Coffee? Lunch? Dinner? Drinks? .... Bills is great for all

An old-fashioned grocer combined with a delicious delicatessen and a relaxed cafĂ© all rolled into one...Bills serves a British and Mediterranean-influenced menu and has numerous London and nationwide locations. Catering for you early bird Saturday morning shoppers wanting a spot of breakfast before hitting the high street, you late Saturday morning brunchers (nothing to do with the copious amounts of '1 drinks after work' on a Friday)  you ardent coffee stoppers or leisurely lunchers (yes you can have a crafty wine with your meal) With blackboards highlighting recipes from kir royale to tomato chutney to shelves stacked with produce to buy and take away and oversized dried chillies hanging from the industrial piping feature on the ceiling, this cafe is a great advise - make a reservation if you plan to go its extremely popular.
