Wired

Coffee and a wall full of posters, I love how creative these simple advertising pieces of paper look so creative and layered.

Christmas time = German market time

I need no convincing when it comes to going to a market at the weekend as you may well of guessed from previous posts - its definitely my favourite way of spending a Saturday afternoon and Christmas isn't Christmas until a visit to the German market in Old market square has happened.
Last Saturday afternoon this happened and my festive countdown began. Jack and I headed straight for the sausage stall - I never thought Id eat another sausage after my recent Berlin trip however I'm not one to break a tradition and Ive now overcome my fear after eating far too many whilst there (maybe a post is in order about this experience) As Christmas shoppers stopped for their energy re-fuel, others casually browsed the eclectic stalls (this was definitely us - we were in no hurry)
My usual photographs of fudge stalls happened - I'm sure i could fill a scrap book with my annual snap shots - how many pictures of the same things do i need???
Unlike us we finished the afternoon with a coffee!!!!!!! and not a bear / mulled wine - I suppose some traditions were broken that afternoon.

'The oldest inn in England'

26 years in Nottingham and never been to 'the trip'....Ben and Fred came for the weekend last week and believe it or not was the first time I'd been to this iconic pub - what a great excuse :)

Standing at the bottom of Nottingham castle, Ye olde trip to Jerusalem dates back to the 1800s. With rooms built into the rocks, low ceilings and carved in sketched writing in the roof its definitely kept its authentic charm.

Real ales are the main speciality on the menu and in my case one of those pubs where you have to have a lager over a vodka!!!!!! Cant make your mind up? Try the 'trip n mix' a selection of three halves of your choice served in the traditional pint pot (the ones with the handles and dimples :) ) and presented on a slate board - sadly none of us opted for this but definitely on my next 'trip' (sorry about the pun....iI couldn't resist) if for nothing else just to get a photo :) :)

A long awaited shopping trip

18 long months ago Mum and I had our last shopping / lunch / coffee / cocktail trip into town, Saturday we re-lived what used to a regular trip and what a perfect start to the weekend.
An early start into town (we opted to take the bus so we could have a wine -or two;) mooching around the shops - we must of racked up at least an hour in Topshop - now I'm no longer in London I have the cash to spend - which believe me is burning a serious hole in my pocket :) A coffee stop mid route and then straight back into hitting the shops. Coats, boots, bags, skirts, knitwear later and we find ourselves at a cosy little table in La Tasca, a sangria apero followed by a lovely selection of tapas and a bottle of Toros. Two and a half hours later and what was a lovely blue sunny sky as we entered is now a miserable black evening with heavy rain - one thing for it to stop us from getting wet - a cocktail at Dinos whilst we wait for the rain to stop :) :)
