All things Selfridges
A dedicated 'yellow space' in Selfridges Oxford Street houses the Selfridges branding from cookies to balsamic vinegar, a selection of infused teas to fudge and pickles all with a very homemade / simple packaging design (and we all know how much of a sucker I am for packaging of foods)
An oversized mosaic inspired model of Harry Selfridge greets you into the area and one wall is a collage of newspaper articles based around the infamous department store. Don't go here with the intention of not buying.....It wont happen!!!!!
The mystery bagel cafe
I ended my Saturday morning stroll through Stoke Newington with the most amazing smoked salmon, cream cheese and rocket sesame seed bagel - the only problem.....I CANNOT think what this cute little cafe was called and remarkably I don't have any exterior photos - If anyone recognises this place please let me know what its called - Its on the tip of my tongue!!!!!
The name aside this is one super cute cafe, just the one bistro table on the edge of the pavement (which I managed to bag for my compulsive habit to people watch) and a breakfast bar running the length of the inside. A moodlboard like wall decorated the right hand side with an array of promotional material and a length long menu makes your decision that little bit harder - I'd highly recommend my choice, however when smoked salmon is concerned I am a little biased :)

A morning in the village
Its hard to believe that a stones throw away from the happening Dalston is the leafy roads of Stoke Newington....At totally different ends of the spectrum (for their both unique qualities) Stoke Newington is a chilled, trendy hot spot for a wander on a sunny Saturday morning.
One of the first stops is the whole foods market - Im a sucker for well merchandised, bespoke foods- Its totally worth the extra £2-3 :)
Further down the high street and independent village stores start to pop up, amazing florists/ butchers / dairy shops and low and behold a vintage courtyard :)

A sunny bank holiday lunchtime
August bank holiday Monday, first sunny day of the extended weekend (where was the promised heatwave?) and only one place to head for a spot of lunch.....The Riverbank, Trent Bridge. Prawn, Crayfish and Harrisa Mayo with a glass (or two) of rose and luckily we bagged one of the two tables in full sun - the huge canopy is a new addition to the riverside terrace, we soon switched tables from shade to sun as soon as it came available - We love the sun in my family :) :)
